My client is a market leader in implementing and providing infrastructure services across the energy and telecoms industry. We are seeking an ambitious Town Planner to join the team working on an active telecommunications and advertising project with a major national client.
This position would be ideal for a candidate with previous experience within a Local Planning Authority working in the Development Control function or at a consultancy dealing with a high-volume caseload.
Undertaking site searches to identify locations for telecommunications / digital advertising structures.
Preparing on-site sketches and taking photos to be used for planning drawings.
Carrying out pre-application discussions with LPAs, both written and as part of face-to-face meetings.
Preparing and submitting full planning and advertisement applications, justifying the proposal against the Local Plan and National Planning Policy.
Resolving delays in registration, building relationships with LPA case officers, and negotiating conditions through to decision as part of the application process.
Attendance and presenting to Planning Committees when required.
Preparing and submitting appeals to the Planning Inspectorate.
The ideal candidate will be able to take a pragmatic approach to delivering proposals through the planning system and have excellent communications skills in order to read policy and deliver arguments to support applications and appeals.
To be successful in this role, you must hold an RTPI accredited Town Planning degree, with chartered MRTPI status or eligibility to apply. Knowledge of the Telecommunications industry desirable as well as public sector experience.
