Private Client Tax Manager

AJ Chambers are at present working with a comprehensive and liberal firm in search for a Private Client Tax Manager to join their practice based in London.

This is an incredible opportunity for individuals who wish to create and form a developed relationship and foundation with their clients across the firm. This practice is currently broadening their services whilst contributing to the development of the company overall, which will mean there will be a vast amount of opportunities to take on more management and roles within. Due to this firm having two offices, although the role is based in their London office, there is an expectation that you would be required to travel to their Guildford office.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Advising on trust set up and IHT planning, as well as tax schemes entered into by personal tax clients, and advise on UK property purchase structure for HNWI.
  • Promoting services offered by the firm in relation to HMRC enquiries and investigations into the affairs of personal and trust clients across the firm.
  • Managing a portfolio of private clients including HNWI's, non-domiciled individuals, UK trusts and company directors.
  • Producing and implementing new regulations and procedure, in accordance with the current policies and principles in place.
  • Attend meetings with clients and HM Revenue & Customs.
  • Managing and coaching a small team of tax professionals within the London office.
  • Maintain own levels of CPD, keeping abreast of relevant technical developments in compliance with guidelines and to meet the Firm's needs.

The ideal candidate:

  • CTA or ACA qualified, with a strong level of existing knowledge and understanding of personal and trust tax
  • Previous experience of working at a senior level incorporating a minimum of 5 years relevant management experience in an accountancy practice, or a specialist field
  • Must also provide experience of working on long term client relationships in addition to working on a fee basis with clients
  • Working and up to date knowledge of relevant software products and MS Office products
  • You must also have a great understanding of the extent of the firms services and external environment in order to contribute and bring value to the business
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to be initiative and creative when faced with difficulties and problems that may arise, and have the independence and have the diplomacy to develop appropriate solutions.
