Ocean Freight Coordinator

Ocean Import Coordinator - Southampton - Up to 35,000

Our client, who are an independent Freight Forwarder in the UK are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ocean Freight Coordinator to join their team in Southampton.
As an Ocean Freight Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the importation of goods by sea, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery for our clients. Your knowledge of import procedures, excellent communication skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks will contribute to the success of their freight forwarding operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Days: Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to 35,000

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage the importation of goods via ocean freight.
• Communicate and liaise with overseas agents, carriers, and clients.
• Arrange and track shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve any issues or delays.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of import records and databases.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and providing status updates.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless coordination of import activities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an Ocean Freight Coordinator within the freight forwarding industry.
• Right to work in the UK (No sponsorship on offer)
• In-depth knowledge of ocean import procedures, customs regulations, and documentation.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and MS Office applications.
• Knowledge in CDS is essential
