Your New Role
Our client has a requirement for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) to carry out planned, preventive and reactive maintenance activities at their specialist facility in Coleraine. This is a full-time, permanent position based on a continental shift pattern which will require you to work every other weekend.
Whilst on shift, your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Approaching all tasks with a 'Safety first, Quality always' approach whilst completing dynamic & planned risk assessments • Always promoting a strong safety culture through compliance with current QSHE standards, applicable company policies and engineering standards • Responsible for completion of Planned and Preventative Maintenance to agreed schedules • Diagnose faults to test, repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment • Observing, recognising and reporting on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide SAP CMMS data.
Updating all engineering systems with required information as per company policies (SAP/Change control/SCADA etc.) • Supporting the creation of SOPs for repeatable maintenance tasks • Supporting focused improvement initiatives within area of ownership and working with other area functions to improve the production area • Identifying improvements and highlighting these with the maintenance function for awareness and completion (small improvements should be completed as standard) • Adopting a cooperative approach with the production teams across each process area and transferring knowledge through the asset care strategy • Ensuring all plant issues are resolved efficiently and effectively to optimise plant throughput across all areas of the plant (production, process and utilities).
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following experience, qualifications and credentials:
The 'right' behaviours and competencies as well as a proven track in a similar position • A relevant Electrical trade qualification, diploma or degree • Experience within a manufacturing environment (food industry knowledge is a distinct advantage) • Positive mindset, can-do attitude, flexible and open to change • Excellent troubleshooting and technical analysis ability, proficient in report writing • Knowledgeable in Maintenance best practice and CMMS systems.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft programs Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Fully proficient in interpreting CAD drawings for electrical, mechanical and facilities applications • Excellent organisation skills • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the value of technical record keeping and the expanded use of this information.
