Qualitair Aviation are currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to support one of our Clients on a permanent basis in Hayes, U.K.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To create and produce manufacturing/tooling work instructions and documentation, i.e. how tooling should be used in production, critical checks - based on tooling manufacturing designs developed within the department
Support the develop new tooling concepts, supporting the Technical Process Manager, Tool Designer and the Tool Maker in creation of tooling supporting documentation
As required, with internal and external tooling resources, provide technical liaison with support from the wider organisation.
Technical support of daily operations in all areas of documenting company tooling, including NEW, MODIFICATION and REPAIR of tooling
Creation of internal company tooling work instructions (as required) to document use and maintenance of specific tooling, to ensure a consistent quality output
With liaison with the rest of the technical team, investigate and develop new processes, methods, and layouts to increase equipment flexibility and improve throughput, within the OEM standard requirements
Supporting the TPM-Tooling, investigate non-conformity's and within the matric environment to alter tooling and or process until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected.
Supporting the TPM-Tooling, working within the wider company Product Segment to optimise the tooling processes - to allow for transition of information between facilities. Using company structures, develop processes and procedures between sites to ensure best practice design.
Experience and Knowledge:
Minimum qualification HND in a mechanical discipline, with significant CAD experience;
Higher qualification considered if able to demonstrate genuine interest in pursuing tool design.
Training in Lean manufacturing, Continuous improvement, and Statistical Process Control would be beneficial
Proven experience of creating and producing manufacturing/tooling work instructions and documentation, i.e. how tooling should be used in production, critical checks / inspection regimes
Ability to read engineering drawings and basic meteorology skills
Ability to understand the mechanical aspects of manufacturing processes and its associated tooling
Ability to communicate with both production staff and process engineering to understand tooling requirements and its use
Experience in a metal component processing, including surface finishing operations for Aerospace components.
Excellent IT knowledge (Understanding of MRP & ERP / MS Office products / CAD software - SolidWorks preferable)
High analysis, trouble shooting and problem solving skills
