I am currently recruiting for a Grade 2 LSA in Personal Care for a secondary school in Luton. They are looking for a confident individual who can support the SENCO and Assistant Senco in the SEN provision.

Responsibilities:

Provide support in the classroom and deliver 1:1 and small group intervention session to individuals/groups of pupils as directed by the class teacher/line manager. Maintain and respect confidentiality.

Follow and implement the school s behaviour and any related policies and procedures.

Assist pupils with personal care including administering medication (with appropriate training) and support students in all aspects.

Where applicable, manual handling of pupils, changing and disposing of incontinence pads, changing soiled clothing, cleaning pupils following personal care to include the personal care of the students.

Under the direction of the Assistant SENCO and LSA Team Leader, develop and maintain supportive relationships with parents, carers and other stakeholders.

Contribute to the care, health and welfare of pupils in accordance with the relevant school policies.

Assist in the supervision of children before and after school by collecting them from their transport in the morning and supporting teachers in the safe return to transport at the end of each day.

Commitment to safeguarding children and young people by following school procedures, keeping up to date with changes to legislation re. safeguarding, both locally and nationally and participating in continuous CPD.
