A rural SEN School are looking to appoint a temporary Home Tutor to deliver one to one sessions within the child's home. The school offers an innovative, SEN education for girls and boys between the ages of 5 to 17 years old. It is a vibrant, pro-active and continually improving school with dedication to setting and achieving realistic yet high goals for pupils from a range of backgrounds.
This school prides itself as being an extremely caring community with the staff adopting a therapeutic approach. One day you are playing football with a student; the next you re providing comfort and support because they ve had a tricky night at home and cannot manage in school. The support from all teaching staff cannot be underestimated and is a crucial factor in building positive relationships with our pupils.
The school recognise the importance of an engaging curriculum in conjunction with a deep focus on developing key life skills. You ll find students watering plants, painting pots as well as feeding the animals over in the land use area. Whilst all of this is happening onsite, small groups of students are offsite developing some key life skills which include: communication, map reading, orienteering. New strategies and ideas are discussed during team meetings and teacher focused sessions.
