Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Location: Cambridge (CB24) Duration: Permanent Hours: 8am until 5pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: 27,500 to 32,500 Job Reference: 35362 Polytec are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Designer for our client based just north of Cambridge. Due to the village location, you will need to have a driving licence and own transport for this role. Further opportunities to travel with work may be available in due course. Responsibilities: Mechanical design of products Assessing the mechanical feasibility of new concepts, including use of simulation programs for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solutions Working with existing company products Research into new processes / technologies, contributing to process improvement initiatives Customer interaction to provide technical solutions Requirements: Degree (1st or upper 2nd) in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or similar from an excellent University Proficient in the use of SolidWorks CAD Scientifically minded, seeks to attain reliable data from which to base decisions Excellent problem solver with proven ability to deconstruct complex problems Passionate about good design, self-motivated, driven and ambitious Knowledgeable in a range of manufacturing / fabrication and finishing processes Workshop experience and an interest in making things IT literate with capabilities in Microsoft Office, LabVIEW and MATLAB Own transport required Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below!
