SENCO - Full-Time Sherborne (DT9) Start ASAP

A well-regarded primary school in Sherborne is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time position, ideal for a qualified SENCO who is ready to lead and develop inclusive practices across the school.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development of the school's SEND provision
  • Coordinate and oversee support for pupils with special educational needs
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support plans


Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a SENCO in a primary school setting
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of current SEND legislation and best practice
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • A commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
