Our client is a leading utlities service provider, delivering oil and gas infrastructure projects for oil and gas onshore asset owners. We are seeking an experienced Bid Writer who can also estimate works for new contracts. This role can work from home with travel, as required to the offices. The company is fast growing with excellent leadership and a fully supportive team environment to enable success.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the preparation of tender submissions, ensuring they are accurate and compliant. This role requires commercial cost awareness, bid writing and technical understanding in civil and mechanical construction to develop high-quality bid proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and write compelling bid proposals
Develop and compile tender return packages, including Project Execution Statements, risk assessments, and technical methodology.
Collaborate with technical, commercial, and operational teams to ensure the bid reflects project feasibility and best practices.
Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
Produce commercial breakdowns in alignment with contract conditions.
Analyse cost data and market trends to enhance the accuracy of pricing strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in bid writing and estimating, ideally within the oil or gas industry, utilities, or civil engineering sector.
Strong understanding of project planning, estimation and tender preparation
Proficiency in estimating tools and planning software (e.g., MS Excel, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
Excellent communication skills to present bids and costs in a clear manner.
Strong commercial acumen to develop competitive cost models and pricing strategies.
Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
